President Victor Yushchenko on Monday met with Deputy Prime Minister Andriy Klyuyev, according to the President`s press-office.

      They spoke about the state of Ukraine’s energy sector and energy prices, especially how to prepare the country for this year’s heating season. Klyuyev assured Yushchenko Ukraine was prepared for winter but said quite many public utilities did not pay for natural gas.

      The president and the deputy premier also spoke about Saturday’s gas blast in Dnipropetrovsk.

      Ivan Plyushch, secretary of National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, and his deputy, Yuriy Prodan, were present at this meeting.
