Death toll in Dnipropetrovsk explosion hits 17
10 people, including two children, still searched
The death toll in a natural gas explosion that rocked an apartment building in eastern Ukraine has reached 17 people, including 5 people. 17 people, including 3 children, were being treated in hospital.
According to the Ministry of Emergency, rescue workers continue searching for another 10 people, including two children, possibly buried under the rubble.
A team of 338 rescue workers with sniffer dogs searches for survivors after emergency services evacuated residents from the remaining part of the block.
The works are coordinated by an emergency headquarters headed by first deputy Minister of Emergency Volodymyr Antonets.
