Monument to perished journalists to be opened in Kyiv
To immortalize the memory of G.Gongadze and others
According to the Kyiv Mayor`s press-office, Mayor Leonid Chernovetskiy signed a decree to immortalize the memory of G.Gongadze and other perished journalists.
The Mayor ordered his top deputy Ivan Fomenko, chief of the Main Culture Department Ruslan Kukharenko, to organize preparing drafts of the monument to Georgiy Gongadze and journalists, who perished, defending the freedom of speech and democracy in the independent Ukraine.
In addition, chief of the city architectural department Vassyl Prysiazhniuk was ordered to find a place for the monument in a crowded place of the capital.
