President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko does not understand the army and its reforms.
Ex-Defense Minister of Ukraine Anatoliy Hrytsenko claimed this to an UNIAN correspondent today, commenting on the words of Victor Yushchenko about the reduction of the combat readiness of the Ukrainian army.
“If it was a professional discussion, I could have listed tens of arguments, confirming that the combat readiness of the Armed Forces increased. But, as the matter does not concern any professional approach, I just make a short remark”, A.Hrytsenko said.
“Unfortunately, over the three years, the President could not understand the army, as well as the contents and depth of the reforms, which take place in it”, he stressed.
“Maybe, that is why the level of people’s confidence in army exceeds by many time the level of confidence to its Supreme Commander-in-Chief”, he added.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on 24 December, Victor Yushchenko, instating newly appointed Defense Minister Yuri Yekhanurov, claimed that “the decline point of the combat readiness of the Armed Forces was reached”, and “the Armed Forces will never fall lower than the current level of the combat readiness”.
