An unstable epidemiological situation in Ukraine with an increase in the number of active cases and hospitalizations has prompted the Health Ministry to look into revising anti-epidemic measures, says chief health official Viktor Liashko.

"Here's what can we consider as almost a done move: We just had a meeting of the National Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies, where we spoke with the [acting] Minister of Education Serhiy Shkarlet and where Resolution 641 enforced quarantine and proposed to shift the school vacation, introducing it from October 15 to October. After October 30, we will keep looking into what we are to do with school education. Also, universities will be offered to switch to distance learning from October 15 to November 15, while students are recommended to vacate dorms, except for orphans, as well as persons deprived of parental care and [internally displaced] persons who came from the occupied territories of Donbas and Crimea," said Lyashko.
