Ukraine's health minister: Over 7,600 children, 10,900 healthcare workers contract COVID-19

Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov says 7,616 children and 10,964 healthcare workers have contracted the coronavirus (COVID-19) since the start of the pandemic.

"In the past day, 2,438 people tested positive for the coronavirus, including 112 children and 122 healthcare workers. Some 497 new patients were hospitalized. There were 48 deaths and 866 recoveries," he said at a briefing on August 28, as reported by the Health Ministry on Facebook.

As many as 55,083 patients have already recovered.
