Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed an order to introduce a temporary visa-free regime for tourists from China.

The new rules are stipulated in presidential decree No. 295/2020, the Office of the President of Ukraine said in an announcement on the official website.

The measure is designed to facilitate the development of friendly relations between Ukraine and China, as well as enhancing cooperation in the tourism sector.

The document provides for the introduction of a visa-free regime for entry into Ukraine and transit travel through Ukrainian territory for citizens of China entering with a tourist purpose if their stay in Ukraine does not exceed 30 days within 180 days.

The new regime will be in effect for the period from August 1, 2020 to January 31, 2021.

Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to take measures in line with the presidential order.

The document comes into force on the day of its publication.
