The country will start its smooth exit from the national quarantine if two key conditions are met, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video address to the nation.

"The first condition is that within ten days the share of coronavirus patients detected doesn't change or remains within 5%. The second condition is that hospitals are below 50% full with COVID-19 patients," Zelensky said.

"A little more patience and self-discipline,” the president said, appealing to Ukrainians in a comment on the latest prolongation of quarantine restrictions.

As UNIAN reported earlier, citing the Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health, as of the morning of April 23, Ukraine reported 7,170 lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases, of which 187 were fatal, and 504 patients recovered.

In the past 24 hours, 578 new cases were recorded.
