Grygoriy Surkis, Head of the Ukraine Football Federation, Oleh Blokhin, Head Coach, and Andriy Shevchenko, Captain of the National Football Team, have invited Victor Yushchenko to attend a June 30 World Cup match in Hamburg, according to the President’s press-office.
The footballers think the President’s presence at tomorrow’s decisive game with Italy “will inspire them and reinforce their faith.”
“We are convinced your visit will also help Ukraine hold a Europe Cup championship in 2012 together with Poland,” they wrote.
They also thanked the Head of State for supporting the team.
“It definitely motivates the team to play self-denyingly,” they said. “We are sure our great achievement will help promote national football and the whole country all over the world.”
Victor Yushchenko might visit the match to support the team.
