Officer of the 53rd separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Anatoliy Shtefan estimates the losses of the two terrorists organizations in Donbas – the Donetsk People's Republic ("DPR") and the Luhansk People's Republic ("LPR") – at 31 fighters in July 2018.

"In the Russian-controlled 'DPR'/'LPR' units, 31 fighters were liquidated and 68 mercenaries were wounded with varying severity in July," he wrote on Facebook on August 1.
"Non-combat losses (suicide, safety violations, reckless killing) totaled 12 terrorists," the officer said, adding that the figure might be even higher.
Terrorist leaders and Russian military often report lower numbers of killed and wounded mercenaries in Donbas not to demotivate their troops, he added.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Russia's hybrid military forces mounted 36 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas in the past 24 hours, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as wounded in action.
