More than 6,300 soldiers gain status of ATO participants
The status of participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation has been granted to more than 6,300 soldiers of the Ukrainian armed forces, Acting Speaker of the General Staff of Ukraine Vladyslav Selezniov said at a briefing in Kyiv on Friday, according to UNIAN correspondent.
"As of today, the status of participant of the ATO has been granted to 6,300 servicemen of the Ukrainian armed forces," he said.
"Moreover, the Defense Ministry has prepared and submitted to the Interdepartmental Commission of the State Service for veterans of the ATO the documents of [another] 1,003 Ukrainian soldiers," Selezniov said.
As reported earlier, the status of ATO participant grants soldiers and their families entitlements to a range of state benefits.
