Ukraine's Defense Ministry says Russia may stage an act of terrorism to put the blame on Ukraine.

"To strengthen its anti-Ukrainian information campaign and justify aggression in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, the Russian regime is planning to create new 'coverage opportunities' to discredit Ukraine," Secretary for the Ministry, Colonel Oleksandr Motuzianyk said at a briefing in Kyiv, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

"With this aim in view, the Russian side is going to put the blame for alleged preparations for terrorist attacks in occupied parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea on Ukraine," he said.

Motuzianyk did not rule out that Russia might stage acts of sabotage at facilities of its own critical infrastructure, such as thermal power plants, ports, enterprises that use hazardous substances in production, transport to blame Ukraine for this.

"Let us stress that such actions are another act of provocation by the Russian Federation against Ukraine," he said.
