A tactical air defense exercise was held in ​the Joint Forces Operation zone, the defense ministry press service reports.

"Divisions, batteries, and other air defense units of the Joint Forces' operational-tactical groupings took part in the exercise. The drill was conducted to enhance the effectiveness of JF air defense system, improve practical skills of combat units in engaging air targets and organizing air defense combat in the general air defense system," says the report.

The exercise involved radar monitoring and destroying conditional air space violators, repelling an enemy air strike, and supporting a unit's offensive.

Ground-to-air fire, including on targets flying at ulta-low altitudes, was also worked out, the defense ministry noted.
