Russian-backed militants in Donbas violated the ceasefire 35 times in total on Sunday, the ATO press center wrote on Facebook.

"From midnight to 1800 Kyiv time today the situation in the zone of the anti-terrorist operation remained tense. Despite a grand Orthodox holiday, criminal gangs of the so-called "DPR" and "LPR" did not stop shelling our positions. All in all, the criminals violated the ceasefire 35 times today, this includes 11 attacks with mortars, mostly those of 120mm caliber," the press center said.

The enemy used mortars, tanks, cannon artillery systems, automatic grenade launchers and machine guns to fire at the Ukrainian troops along the line of contact in Donbas on Sunday.

A skirmish took place not far from the town of Avdiyivka between 0915 and 0925 Kyiv time on Sunday. Ukrainian troops successfully repelled the attack by the enemy.

In Lugansk region, militants shelled the positions of Ukrainian troops near the village of Novotoshkivske twice on Sunday.

Ukrainian troops also detected the enemy's reconnaissance drones in the ATO zone three times during the day.

"ATO servicemen have strongly been holding their positions. Despite the tense situation, Ukrainian soldiers have managed to take part in traditional Orthodox Easter celebrations," the press center wrote.
