"Christmas truce": Militants shell ATO forces in two Donbas sectors
Despite mutual adherence to the ceasefire in the daytime on Monday, Russian occupation forces resorted to a provocation after dark, having shelled the Ukrainian positions from banned weapons, according to the press center of the Ukrainian Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.
"In the Donetsk sector, at about 19:00 Kyiv time, the Russian-backed mercenaries started firing on the Ukrainian fortified positions near the village of Pavlopil. Five 120mm mines were launched toward the Ukrainian positions from the temporarily occupied village of Sosnivske. In the Luhansk sector, the enemy attacked our fortified positions near the village of Stanytsia Luhanska," the report says.
