No enemy shelling, but one violation recorded on August 13 / REUTERS

Ukraine has reported no shelling by the enemy in Donbas on Thursday, August 13, but one violation by the Russian Federation's armed formations was recorded.

"On August 13, there were no enemy attacks in all areas of responsibility of our units," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation (JFO) said in a Facebook update as of 07:00 Kyiv time on August 14, 2020.

The Joint Forces were abiding by the ceasefire, being ready to adequately respond to possible attacks by the adversary, it said.

Meanwhile, the Russian Federation's armed formations violated the peace deal by commencing engineering work near the village of Zolote-5, which is not controlled by the Ukrainian government, in the direction of Ukrainian units' positions.

No Ukrainian army casualties were reported in the past day.

At the same time, one Ukrainian soldier was killed and another one was injured in a booby-trap blast in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, on August 13. The injured was rushed to a hospital, where he was provided with the necessary medical assistance.

Since Friday midnight, no attacks by Russian Federation's armed formations have been recorded, the JFO HQ said.

The situation is under full control of the Ukrainian military, it said.

Background

Participants in the Trilateral Contact Group (Ukraine, Russia, and the OSCE) on the peace settlement in Donbas on July 22 agreed on a full and comprehensive ceasefire along the contact line from July 27.

The new ceasefire regime was enforced at 00:01 Kyiv time on July 27.

On the very first day of the newly-agreed truce, Russia's hybrid military forces mounted three attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine.
