Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko stated today in Brussels during her meeting with “European Round Table of Industrialists” with participation of heads of the world known corporations Nokia, Shell, Moeller-Maersk, Saint-Gobain, Volvo, SAP, Enі, Royal Dutch Shell, according to the government’s press-office.

The Head of Government stressed that “it is very important for the Ukrainian government that foreign business feels comfortable in our state”. She assured that the Government, President and parliamentary coalition have common views on strategy of further development of Ukraine, in particular, concerning carrying out of economic reforms. According to Yulia Tymoshenko, the Government’s task today to make the Ukrainian economy open for all big world business-structures, create transparent relations between business and power introducing common rules for everyone.

“We must oppose to that someone enters the Ukrainian economy through the front door and someone - knocks at the closed door,” she noted. Yulia Tymoshenko told European businessmen about 20 transparency initiatives of the Ukrainian Government. The PM announced that the Government aspires to transparent cooperation with world investors and considers removal of all obstacles on the path of big business to Ukraine its priority.

In his turn, ERT Chairman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nokia and Shell corporations Jorma Ollila stated that European investors believe in Ukraine and mean to increase investments to the Ukrainian economy in the future. “We consider Ukraine as a part of the European economic landscape,” he said. In his opinion, Ukraine’s accession to the WTO would be the first significant step in Ukraine’s advancement to European markets and believes that “this is a chance to clear the way for Ukrainian membership in the EU”.
