More than half of Ukrainians trust President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, these are results of the poll, publicized by director general of “FOM – Ukraina” LLC Oleksandr Buhalov at a news conference in Kyiv today.
Particularly, some 58.2% of those polled trust V. Putin, some 24.2% of those polled do not trust. Some 17.7% of those polled could not answer the question.
At the same time, some 28.1% of those polled trust newly elected President of Russia Dmitriy Medvedev, some 22.2% - do not trust him, and some 49.8% of those polled could not answer.
Moreover, the majority of Ukrainians (some 75.3%) have positive attitude to Russia.
The European Union is at the second place – with some 51.4%, the USA is at the third place (some 28.1%) and China is at the fourth place (some 25.1%).
Also, according to the poll, some 31.3% of Ukrainians believe that relations between Ukraine and Russia will be better during further eight years. Some 25.4% of those polled are sure that the relations will remain the same and some 17.4% of those polled think that it will be worse.
The poll was carried out by “FOM – Ukraina” company from February 20 to March 2, 2008. 2 thousand respondents in 160 settlements of Ukraine were polled. The error margin makes up 2.2%.
