Earlier, the country’s TV and Radio Commission accused REN TV of spreading propaganda and promoting war and hate, while last year, Lithuania and neighboring Latvia banned the channel for falsely reporting historical events in Baltic states during the fall of the Soviet Union, Ukraine Today reports.

Meanwhile, the European Union is considering launching its own Russian-language channel to counter the Kremlin propaganda. The project is to be targeted at the Russian speakers in the Baltic region who are targeted by Russian propaganda, and who have few alternative sources of information.
