Putin promises more mass military exercises as Russian saber-rattling over Ukraine continues (Video)
Russian President Vladimir Putin has said Moscow will order even more military drills later this year, a week after Russia conducted exercises with a new force stationed in the Arctic.
The series of military exercises performed by the Russian Armed Forces in the past months are just one of many indicators that Russia’s relations with the West have worsened to almost Cold War levels, Ukraine Today reports.
According to the Associated Press, some 80,000 troops across the country took part in the latest Russian military drills.
NATO has been seeing number of bellicose air maneuvers by Russian Air Force over the Baltic Sea, and has had to send allied forces’ aircraft on numerous interception missions.
Moreover, the West continues to claim that Russia is sending weapons and even deploying regular troops to eastern Ukraine, in breach of its obligations under the Minsk peace agreement.
