The problem of the Russian language in Ukraine is artificial, Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ogryzko said after Tuesday negotiations with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, according to Itar-Tass.

"Rights of the Russian language in Ukraine are not infringed. One simply has to listen to people talking on Kiev streets. Thus, the language problem should not be highlighted in the bilateral relations,” he said.

“Meanwhile, the Ukrainian language must be used on the national territory after long years of persecution,” Ogryzko said.
