Former Ukrainian president: Any attempt to sabotage Olympics doomed to fail
Tibet is an inalienable part of China, Kravchuk said
Ukraine`s former President Leonid Kravchuk said Tuesday any attempt to sabotage the Beijing Olympic Games using the Tibet issue is doomed to fail, according to Xinhua.
"The Olympics is a great sports party for the whole of mankind and serves as an arena of friendly exchanges. Any attempt to sabotage the Beijing Olympic Games by using the Tibet issue violates the Olympic spirit and the will of people around the world," Kravchuk said during a meeting with Zhou Li, the Chinese ambassador to Ukraine.
"Tibet is an inalienable part of China, the Tibet issue is China`s internal issue and no country can intervene," the first president of independent Ukraine said.
Kravchuk, also Honorary Chairman of Ukrainian-Chinese Friendship Association, pointed out China has already made good preparations for the Olympics and he wished the Beijing Olympics a success.
