Russia has a very strong imperial ideology. Russian oppositional politician and satirist Victor Shenderovych claimed this in an interview with UNIAN. “An imperial bacillus lives in our country. We do not feel ourselves people if we do not oppose, for instance, America. Russians have been infected with statements that, as if, Russia rose from the knees, Russia resists the West, and it is respected in the world. And this tale, this hypnosis influences us”, said Shenderovych about the ideological situation in the country.
In the opinion of the politician, Ukraine is not infected with the imperial bacillus. “Considering Maydan, this does not influence you. You understood that they had lied to you and treated you as cattle for a long time, and you come out to Maydan. In my opinion, this is the main difference between Ukraine and Russia”.
