Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko expects to visit Russia in late May, he told a press conference on Thursday, adding that he had discussed this with Russian President Vladimir Putin and had expressed interest in communicating with Russia`s new President-elect. According to RBC, asked if he would participate in the new leader`s inauguration, Yushchenko said that the Ambassadors of foreign countries had been invited to the event.

The Ukrainian leader also announced Dmitry Medvedev`s possible visit to Ukraine, and although still unscheduled, he said he wished it was his first visit abroad as the new President of Russia.
