Russian Black Sea fleet flagship enters Abkhazian waters

The flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, rocket cruiser Moskva, is nearing the Sukhumi port of Abkhazia.

Vice admiral Sergei Meniaylo, commander of the Novorossiyskiy Naval Base, disclosed this to journalists today, according to Gazeta.ru.

Yesterday, general Anatoliy Nogovitsyn, deputy head of the  Russian Staff, claimed that the ship was merely training and would return to her base port of Sevastopol in the evening of Tuesday.

Today several ships of the Black Sea fleet have already entered the Sukhumi port.

S.Meniaylo stressed that the ships were there since the first day of the conflict, and will stay until they receive other instructions.
