Victor Yushchenko meets Mikheil Saakashvili, John McCain

In New York President Victor Yushchenko took part in trilateral meeting with President Mikheil Saakashvili of Georgia and presidential nominee of the Republican Party in the 2008 presidential election in the U.S. John McCain. John McCain`s chosen running mate Governor Sarah Palin also took part in the meeting, according to the President`s press-office.

At the meeting sides have discussed Ukrainian-American relations and possibility of their deepening after the 2008 presidential election in the U.S.

Also President Yushchenko reaffirmed Ukraine`s aspiration to join NATO.

Besides, Victor Yushchenko and John McCain have discussed energy cooperation, particularly creation of united European energy space.
