Yanukovych claims that National Unity Pact does not oblige him
To support NATO Membership Plan of Actions
Prime Minister of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych claims that the National Unity Pact does not oblige him to support the NATO Membership Plan of Actions, according to Ukrayinska Pravda.
“The Pact does not state that we support the Plan of Actions. It reads that we enter NATO on the results of a referendum”, Victor Yanukovych said in Brussels, answering the question about the indignation of Our Ukraine members, as he refused to announce about Ukraine’s will to join the Plan of Actions.
“Other politicians have their own opinion, and this is their right”, Victor Yanukovych said, having added: “But these politicians should take into account the opinion of public, where from 12 to 25% of people support the idea of joining NATO”.
