Victor Yushchenko has told reporters in Lviv Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland want Russia and Georgia to immediately resolve their conflict and are eager to help, according to the President`s press-office.

The President said he had discussed this week’s spy row between the two countries with his colleagues, Lech Kaczynski and Valdas Adamkus.

“We urge them not to build their relations on pressure and confrontation. We call on them to be wise enough and show understanding, respect and patience to resolve the conflict diplomatically,” he said. “Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland are ready to help the sides implement the peaceful scenario.”

In his speech, Mr. Adamkus has said it is important to draw the attention of the world community to the issue. He reiterated that the states should conduct talks to settle the row.

“I am convinced international organizations will pay attention to this,” he said, adding that “Georgia has the right to protect its interests and appeal to the international community.”
