A Ukrainian citizen working for a British firm in Iraq was killed by a roadside bomb outside Baghdad, and one other was injured, the Foreign Ministry said Sunday, according to AP.

The incident occurred near the town of Kut, 160 kilometers (100 miles) southeast of Baghdad, on Friday, the Ministry said in a statement. One of the men died at the scene, the other was wounded and was being treated in a Baghdad hospital.

The two men, whose names were not released, worked as security guards for a private British company transporting cargo.

Ukraine had contributed troops to the U.S.-led force in Iraq. Eighteen Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and 32 others wounded in the fighting there and the country last year pulled out its troops.
