Ukraine’s NATO integration should not harm Russia, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov told a news conference after a meeting of the Russian-Ukrainian economic cooperation committee on Tuesday, according to Itar-Tass.

“Strategic cooperation envisions not only an ability to look into prospects, but any relations and priorities in foreign and domestic policies and at the level of inter-state relations,” he said.

“Not to get deep into analysing our relations in this direction, I’d like to note that if it is NATO than without damaging Russia,” Fradkov said.

“When this happens, the Ukrainian authorities and people should decide,” he said referring to the terms of Ukraine’s accession to NATO.
