The Ukrainian authorities have adopted a draft readmission agreement with the European Union, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Boris Tarasyuk said on Wednesday, according to Itar-Tass.

The document will be initialled at the Ukraine-EU summit due in Finland on October 27.

He pointed out that finally the parties found a compromise on how to deal with a person from a third country.

Ukraine insisted the agreement should come into force after a three-year deferment, while the EU demanded to shorten it to one year.

As a result, they agreed to make a two-year deferment.

The EU says after it signs a readmission agreement with Ukraine, it will take steps to ink an agreement on simplified visa rules.
