Yushchenko met Slovak Speaker
They spoke about how to build closer political and economic ties
Victor Yushchenko has met with Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Pavol Paska, according to the President`s press-office.
They spoke about how to build closer political and economic ties between Ukraine and Slovakia. Mr. Yushchenko said Ukraine “aims to maximally reinforce its political dialogue with Slovakia.”
The President thanked the Slovak government for satisfying cultural and educational needs of the Ukrainian community living in the Republic. He said Ukraine was committed to its European aspirations and wanted to develop energy cooperation with the EU. He also urged Slovakia to express solidarity with Ukrainians by recognizing the Holodomor as genocide.
Mr. Yushchenko confirmed that he would visit the Slovak Republic in 2008.
