Victor Yushchenko has offered sympathy to Turkmenistan’s acting president Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov over the death of President Saparmyrat Niyazov, according to the President`s press-office.
“Saparmyrat Atayevych has been known in Ukraine as a wise and levelheaded politician and Ukraine’s big friend. His tireless efforts and personal qualities helped implement large-scale development projects in Turkmenistan’s economic, social and spiritual life and considerably reinforce the country`s neutrality,” he wrote.
