Ukraine supports UN Security Council`s resolution

On Iran`s nuclear programs

Ukraine stated its support of the UN Security Council`s resolution No 1737 on suspension of Iran`s nuclear programs, the Foreign Ministry`s press service told, according to Ukrinform.

Ukraine, who has signed the agreement for the safeguards in connection with a treaty on non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and the additional protocol to the agreement for the application of safeguards in connection with the treaty on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, means a right for peaceful use of nuclear weapons is a universal right. However, fulfilling the right, every country, including Iran, would keep to certain obligations in the sector of non-distribution of nuclear weapons.

Ukraine shares its concern over a non-transparent approach of Iran`s authorities to further elaboration of nuclear programs and beliefs the country should provide necessary conditions to enable the IAEA to make proper conclusions.
