Orthodox world celebrate Shrovetide – the last week before Lent- from February 8 to February 14.
A church reminds that an aim of this week is preparation for Lent, reconciliation with close people and forgiveness of offences. According to a tradition, during these days people bake pancakes, visit each other, and organize fairs with games and performances.
In 2010 Shrovetide starts on February 8.
