Yushchenko calls for security talks with Russia

Ukraine respects Russia’s defense interests and is ready to hold talks on security policy with its neighbor, Victor Yushchenko has told reporters in Munich, according to the President`s press-office.

The President said Ukraine “must articulate and explain its ambition to integrate into the European security system” to avoid misunderstandings with Russia.

“We are ready to do it. The most important thing is that there is no threat to Russia. This is Ukraine’s sovereign decision to build its security,” he said.
