The Ukrainian Security Service has prepared questions, which will be sent to Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov through diplomatic channels. The questions are about his statements in Sevastopol.

According to him, in line with the Ukrainian legislation, SBU has to interrogate Yuri Luzhkov in the nearest future.

In addition, V.Nalyvaychenko stressed, in line with the acting legislation of Russia, the actions of the Moscow Mayor in Sevastopol as assessed as illegal.

“All this was laid in the basis of the inquiry that is sent through diplomatic channels”, V.Nalyvaychenko said, adding that the questions to Yu.Luzhkov have been already agreed with the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine.

On February 21 in Sevastopol Mr. Luzhkov called into question the status of the Crimean peninsula as part of Ukraine and called Ukrainian citizens to participate in mass protests of political character which was the direct interference in domestic affairs of the foreign state.

The Ukrainian side assesses the events in Sevastopol as a move directed to generating tension in the society, straining the neighborly relations and strategic partnership between Ukraine and Russia.
