Europe needs new energy strategy – Yushchenko
It could face a similar crisis as Ukraine.
When asked how to achieve continental energy security, Victor Yushchenko said Ukraine actively supported Europe’s intention to formulate new energy strategy, according to the President’s press-office.
The Head of State said the January gas crisis in Ukraine showed that “there is no country that can independently achieve energy security." He added that any European country could face a similar crisis and so insisted that the European community should seek new ways of regional and continental energy cooperation.
“Europe does need new energy strategy,” he stated.
