Russian State Duma has expressed concern about the US support of Georgia and Ukraine`s accession to NATO, Deputy Speaker of the Duma Vladimir Pekhtin told journalists today, RBC reports.

Pekhtin believes that the law, which was signed by US President George W. Bush on Tuesday, has nothing to do with modernization of the alliance or increasing Europe`s security. He pointed out that such actions by the US did not strengthen bilateral relations between Moscow and Washington, but rather decreased the level of mutual trust between the two countries. Pekhtin added that the signing of this law prohibited Russia and the US from cooperation in the sphere of international energy security.
