Yushchenko explained his vision of settling the conflict to Javier Solana

Victor Yushchenko and Javier Solana, Secretary General of the Council of the European Union and High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, spoke by phone on Thursday. They discussed recent political developments in Ukraine.

The President said he had offered Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych a fifteen-point plan aimed at resolving the political crisis. Solana expressed confidence it would help settle the situation.

They agreed to keep in touch with each other.
