Italy, Vatican visits of President delayed

Victor Yushchenko’s visit to Italy and audience with Pope Benedict XVI in Vatican, originally scheduled for May 6-8, have been delayed, according to the President`s press-office. Ukraine and Italy seek to develop bilateral ties and so diplomats of both countries will soon appoint a new date for the visit.

President Yushchenko and Italy’s Giorgio Napolitano are expected to meet during a summit of leaders of Central and Eastern Europe that will be held on May 24-25 in the Czech city of Brno.
