Japanese authorities have yet to confirm the overflow of radioactive water from the emergency units of Japanese nuclear power plant Fukushima 1, the Kyodo news agency reported on Tuesday, according to RIA Novosti.

The 9.0-magnitude earthquake and tsunami that rocked Japan on March 11 triggered a number of explosions at the Fukushima nuclear power plant, spreading fears of massive radioactive contamination.

The reactors are located some 55 to 70 meters away from the Pacific coast.
