Parliament members of Kazakhstan asked President to suspend their powers

According to IA "Kazakhstan Today", the parliament members of the lower house of Kazakhstan Parliament appealed to President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to suspend their powers and to set early election.

More than 50 out of 77 parliament members supported this proposition.

According to the appeal, the amendments to the Constitution, initiated by the President and concerned the work of parliament, will start to act only in 2009, when on the results of ordinary election the new staff of house will be formed.

The parliament members say that on these conditions the President should take “historical decision” concerning the dissolution of Parliament, in order the Parliament “will not be a brake of reforms”.
