There are no serious opponents of Ukraine`s European path - President
Yushchenko interviewed by European press
In an interview with The Times, La Repubblica, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Le Figaro and Expresso on Monday, President Victor Yushchenko talked about domestic, international and energy issues, according to the President`s press-office.
Speaking about EU integration, the president said there was high national support for European Union membership. “This is a key position. I would say there are no serious opponents [of Ukraine`s European path], neither among the [main] political forces, nor among the people,” he said and added that the issue was “exceptionally national.”
Yushchenko then said the country`s gas transportation system should be regarded as an integral part of the European gas market.
