Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Ukraine Victor Chernomyrdin denies the accusation of President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko that Russia has been blocking the investigation of his poisoning.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, the Ambassador said this today in Kyiv, answering questions of journalists.
According to the words of V. Chernomyrdin, Ukraine has not turned to the Russian side for any aid in the investigation of the case. He stressed that he would have known for sure if they had turned.
V. Chernomyrdin noted that this morning he read in newspaper about the President`s statement. He added that he permanently stays in Ukraine and repeatedly met with the President and heard (these accusations – UNIAN) for the first time.
According to his opinion, in case of V. Yushchenko`s poisoning, Ukraine has to deal with it by itself.
