Georgia on Wednesday recalled its ambassador to Russia, saying Moscow was behind recent political turmoil in the Caucasus nation, according to Reuters.

"Georgia`s ambassador to Russia, Irakly Chubinishvili, has been recalled to Tbilisi for consultations," Georgian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Nino Kajaia told Reuters.

"The events unfolding in Georgia clearly appear to be linked to Russia," she said, adding that Russia`s ambassador to Georgia, Vyacheslav Kovalenko, had been summoned to the Georgian foreign ministry.
