The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the world exceeded 20.6 million patients as of August 13.

As many as 20,624,316 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported as of 09:27 on August 13, according to the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The overall death toll is 749,421 people, while 12,831,800 coronavirus patients have already recovered.

The highest death toll was recorded in the United States (166,027 people), Brazil (104,201), Mexico (54,666), India (47,033), the United Kingdom (46,791), Italy (35,225), and France (30,375).

The countries most affected by the coronavirus pandemic include the United States (5,197,147 confirmed cases), Brazil (3,164,785), India (2,396,637), Russia (900,745), South Africa (568,919), Mexico (498,380), Peru (489,680), and Colombia (422,519).

As many as 188 countries have been affected by the virus.
