September 1: The beginning and the end of new truce in Donbas
Russian occupation forces in Donbas violated the ceasefire six times from 00:00 to 18:00 local time on September 1, which was set as a new deadline for the truce in the east of Ukraine, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.
They did not use weapons until 10:00 in the morning, the ATO HQ said.
"But after 10 o'clock in the morning, firing at random with the use of a large-caliber machine-gun towards the village of Luhanske was reported. Reports about the use of mounted anti-tank grenade launchers to shell the villages of Troitske and Nevelske began to arrive since noon. Further, the defenders of the town of Avdiyivka came under fire from automated mounted grenade launchers and small arms," it said.
Poroshenko: Ceasefire in Donbas observed for 12 hoursJournalists from Russian TV channels were reportedly present at the front line positions of the illegal armed formations for possible recording how "the Ukrainian side 'fails' to observe the ceasefire."
"The Armed Forces of Ukraine neither responded to the provocation, nor fired back, following the order by the President of Ukraine and Commander-in-Chief and strictly adhering to the Minsk agreements," the ATO HQ said.
