German broadcaster Deutsche Welle has apologized for its article, in which the conflict in eastern Ukraine was called a "civil war."

"We apologize that this article did not meet our editorial standards – we have amended the text accordingly. Thank you for bringing this to our attention," Deutsche Welle wrote on Twitter.

As UNIAN reported earlier, press secretary of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Mariana Betsa said the ministry expected that Germany's Deutsche Welle to correct an article, where the armed confrontation in eastern Ukraine was called "civil war."
