Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington in September.

"There should be a meeting with President Trump in September, in Washington," Zelensky told journalists in the town of Truskavets, the president's press service told UNIAN.

As UNIAN reported earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to pay an official visit to Washington, D.C.

On July 9, the then Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly said Zelensky's visit to Washington, D.C., for a meeting with Trump would be prepared in August-September.

On July 24, United States Chargé d'Affaires to Ukraine William Taylor said the date of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Washington, D.C., for a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump had not been set yet.
